PROJECTS

Flood mitigation & water management

Working with local councils, environmental groups and regional agencies, we are developing new technologies to evaluate, characterise and mitigate against the effects of flooding. Our latest innovation project, the "FloodGate Sentinel", is a new technology to remotely verify the installation and performance of domestic flood barriers.

Low-carbon heating and cooling

We have developed a new Integrated Ground Source Heating and Cooling (IGSHC) approach that can be incorporated into drainage (storm/foul/sewage) and flood alleviation infrastructure. Our aim is to open up ground source heating/cooling applications to new users in dense, urban environments to reduce thermal energy demand and carbon impact.

Smart Sensing is at the heart of our latest infrastructure technology projects. We are working closely with industrial and academic partners to develop a range of new water quality, drainage and performance monitoring tools that can be coupled to Digital Twin models.
